Despite funerals, rampant viruses and generally vile weather, we had a good turn out. Eight eager writers (<a href="http://werkshop.org.uk" rel="nofollow">Ian</a>, <a href="http://holisticexercise.co.uk" rel="nofollow">Mark</a>, <a href="http://werkshop.org.uk" rel="nofollow">James</a>, <a href="http://themaydays.co.uk" rel="nofollow">Katy</a>, <a href="http://www.buddhafield.com/" rel="nofollow">Akasati</a>, <a href="http://redbeard.org.uk" rel="nofollow">Ben</a>, Rebecca, <a href="http://authenticblogging.com" rel="nofollow">Libby</a>) huddled over the table at the lovely Werks and let it rip. <a href="http://hiap.wordpress.com/" rel="nofollow">Alix</a> & <a href="http://leahlandau.wordpress.com/" rel="nofollow">Leah</a> are planning to come along to the next session/s. Nice mix of ages, gender etc. Looks like we will go ahead with the creative foundations and free writing as intended, plus allow for some tune-up sessions and specific exercises to help people with their practical / professional expression. The pressure of being hilarious is of course overwhelming, but I'll quietly cope. I'm hoping to churn out some genius comedy during this course hidden under layers of insecurity and the bitterness that only the young can truly affect (as the betrayal of our dreams is still imaginary and acts as a shield to stop us actually having to achieve anything). I'm 28 - does that still count? So I've been given a challenge for a new stand-up show. The last one was about Einstein. This one; well, perhaps I won't tell you yet in case I have to change it to make my material fit... Anyway, looking forward to you all buying me a drink.
