A Place Called Providence

September 18, 2007

We’ve started a group blog for our co-working office space in Providence Place.

It ought to be a laugh and give a bit of a sense of the round-the-table conversation we enjoy. Check out aplacecalledprovidence.com.

Sussex Digital

July 2, 2007

Sussex Digital is a new focus for the digital community in Brighton, Hove and surrounding Sussex.   It is beginning with a focus on local events.  We are so lucky here in Brighton. We have a geek event on almost every day or night of the week, making it a very vibrant place for web startups to develop.

Authentic Blogging courses in Brighton

June 15, 2007

My partner Libby has just started up a series of courses on blogging, and along with it a new blog at authenticblogging.com which aims to introduce people to blogging as a creative process, and finding an authentic voice in community.

The first course is starting in the Autumn term at Varndean College in Brighton. Places are limited and I get the feeling that these are going to be popular, so if you are interested, get in quickly.

I’m likely to be helping out a little in these courses; but only a little. The focus is very much on the creative process  and not on the technical details.

And there more about the place on the Scouta blog.

The second act

May 1, 2007

In the first act, I spent most of my time working in the city of London for an investment bank, which meant my time here was rather limited.

Well, that all changes as of today, 1 May, when the second act begins. There’s a bit to decide on just which direction to take, but it will involve working on new and different web applications, especially our growing Scouta.com, and expanding into some new consulting and project directions.

More on that as it evolves. For now, it is vision and planning time. I’m going to start with a few mind maps and take it from there.

Brighton web and tech events

April 20, 2007

Raj Anand had made a really useful summary of the web and tech events that go on in Brighton.  So, I’ll be getting to a bunch of these in the next few months.
